Lena didn't make a habit of stopping people as they walk the hallways of Hogwarts. In fact, her most common reaction to seeing people walking towards her would be to shuffle slightly towards the wall as to give the others more space. It wasn't a conscious reaction because Lena was trying very hard to not 'be so mousy' as some of her friends had put it. No, she didn't often stop people she didn't know, which was why it seemed so incredible hard to gather up the courage to call out to the other girl.
Her reasoning was sound, however. When the girl had first passed by, Lena had barely looked up from the book in her hand, expecting to see a Hufflepuff student on their way to the common room. The blue tie and the Eagle emblem had puzzled her at first, but she hadn't wasted much thought on it.
When the girl passed by again, Lena had slid from her standing position to sitting on the floor, book now placed on her stretched out legs. At the sound of her footsteps, she pulled her legs to her with a small 'sorry' until the other had passed. This time Lena scrunched her nose up in thought, eyes following the girl's back down the hallway. Weird, she thought.
The third time Lena recognized the other as she passed. It was odd for a Ravenclaw to pass by the Hufflepuff common room entrance twice, but three times and she would definitely have to be lost. Nothing of particular interest (at least for a Ravenclaw) was to be found in the nearby area, Lena mused before she closed her book and got up from the floor.
''Excuse me,'' she said, her eyes changing to become grayer, mimicking the slight unease she felt addressing the other, ''But do you need some help finding your way?''
