while a lot of hwaseong students were, in caleb’s opinion, easy to get along with, he has since he was sorted into the house felt that gyeon miyoung has always been kind of hard for him to approach. he’d tried, sure, but he’d always gotten the feeling she had been mildly unimpressed by him. but, caleb thought, as he spotted his hwaseong senior, it wouldn’t hurt to keep trying. what was the point of being housemates if you could not be friends?
“miyoung!” he calls out as he saunters over to her and tries his best to appear as friendly as possible to not scare her off. not that he isn’t genuine about it. he’s just trying a little harder than usual. caleb has never found it very difficult to approach people, so miyoung honestly feels like a little bit of a mystery to him. “come on, aren’t you going to give your house junior some attention?"
he considers miyoung for a bit. he was sure she wasn’t a bad person, or anything like that, but, to him, she really came across as kind of cold. “you know,” he starts, jokingly, before he can stop himself, “you really are difficult to talk to. am i not older than you? what happened to respecting your elders?”
there’s some part of caleb’s brain, far, far back, that tells him that maybe, it’s time to stop. but that’s nothing but a faint echo, and is easily overpowered by his own impulses. “you can tell me if you think i’m beneath you, you know. i won’t tell anyone!”
