OOMFknights
Another week, another attack. Ashe can't really say he's surprised, just... disappointed.
His team has made it to their post early this time around, so, for once, Ashe isn't confident he can shoot far enough to hit any of the incoming first wave of nightmares, unfortunately. At least from the walls. Injured as he may be, it's time he got down there, in the thick of it... Just like everyone else. Honestly, as a knight, he'll have to do that usually, so it's good training for him anyways.
In any case, as they get settled in their position, one of the slimes already starts advancing up toward the wall, from Ashe's southwest. Just close enough... as the only archer in the team, it's all up to him, huh?
Ashe attacks Black Slime at (7,17) from (8,16) with Steel Bow. 1d20 roll: 15. Hit! (-2HP) Black Slime's (7,17) HP: 1/3. Ashe attacks Black Slime at (7,17) from (8,16) with Steel Bow. 1d20 roll: 6. Hit! (-2HP) Black Slime's (7,17) HP: 0/3.
Two... decent shots. But, the job is done. With the shadow vanishing, the hopeful red glint of the dream crystals makes Ashe at ease. They're not his favorite crystals from the bunch, that'd be the white ones for their versatility, but they're the 2nd. They'll need a bunch of these soon enough...
But no dilly-dallying. Ashe still has time to attack more, and his teammates are still not in range, so it has to be him. He spots a Corpse Tree looming in the distance. These are sturdier, so the commoner doesn't really think he'll get to dispatch it so soon... But one shot should do for now! Just the one for good measure- he doesn't think he'll be able to safely shoot two without suffering retribution.
Ashe attacks Corpse Tree at (8,18) from (8,16) with Steel Bow. 1d20 roll: 12. Hit! (-2HP) Corpse Tree's (8,18) HP: 3/5.
The tip lodges itself into the corpse part of the tree, yet this isn't enough to get rid of it. Moreover, it shoots back, and Ashe's reflexes are not quite enough to dodge the projectile.
Corpse Tree counterattacks! 1d4 roll: 3. Hit! (-2HP) Ashe's HP: 5/12.
The impact pushes Ashe back against the wall he's so used to standing on the top of. This is... some irony. He takes deep breaths and glances at the others, shaking his head. He can't risk another hit. It's up to the rest of the team now, following the horde's and their... "allies'" own moves.
