Lia was no stranger to the Parker Ranch, especially in the summer. It had long been a running joke between Lia and Mari, at Holly's expense that the girls frequented the ranch more during the summer just in case Holly's hot brothers and the other workers happened to take their shirts off whilst they were working. For the last few months, Lia had found herself finding a quiet spot in the grass and writing, the fresh air and the quiet surroundings proving wonderful for her song muse. Now, however, she was there to try and find some solace.

With Holly away, she had no real reason to go to the ranch other than she needed to get out of the house but didn't want to be on her own. Or surrounded by people but still on her own. Her break with Emil still smarted and as much as she knew it was the right thing, the ache in her chest was just too strong.

Wandering into the stables, Lia cracked a small smile as she saw her face, instantly making her way over to the gorgeous creature. "Hey girl, I'll have to go and find some carrots for you in a minute, I didn't bring any with me." She gently stroked her nose, leaning her head against the horse's neck. "If you're lucky, one of the hot brothers you probably know as 'dad' will have an apple for you as well. It might be from them, but I definitely get the credit, right?"

At the sound of footsteps behind them, Lia gave the horse another stroke. "I'm not stealing her, even if I wanted to and even if she would willingly run away with me."

"Darlin', shall we get another tea, I'm quite enjoying sitting here." Glancing back at her grandmother as she sat back down at the table, a small frown lined Adeline's forehead. "You just said you were getting ready to leave before I went to the restroom.." She wasn't sure what it could be, but the look on her grandmother's face suggested that the older lady had something up her sleeve. The glint in her eye and the little suppress of a smile had Addie's mind wandering. "Fine, but I'm getting you a decaf this time."

Ordering two more teas, Addie was tapping away on her phone to update her sister on Briar Ridge life as she waited for the drinks. "Adeline?" At her name, she glanced up and smiled at barista, taking the two cups of tea from them, just as her elderly grandmother appeared at her arm. "I've changed my mind sweetheart, I am actually ready to go home, but you stay here and drink your tea, Sandy's grandson is going to drive me home."

The confusion was evident on her face as she looked between her grandmother and the teas in her hand. "You just said.." As she looked back at her again, someone caught her eye, her glance flashing to them as the recognition zinged through her body. "If I find out this was a set up, lovingly, I will kill you." Her grandmother looked angelic, but as Adeline put the teas down on the table, she quickly reached for her arm. "You can stay, I'd rather you stay or you know what, I'll drive you home." Having wrenched her arm out of Addie's hand, she shook her head. "Don't you dare, don't leave me.."

The old woman scuttled out of the cafe and it was all Addie could do to force a smile onto her face. She would probably never know if this was set up, but it sure felt like it. She had seen him once since she moved home, very briefly, but now this seemed different. All she needed to do was say hi, but instead, she stood awkwardly by her table, with two cups of tea and an increasing need for the ground to swallow her up.

Location: Nate's house, Beach Front Starter for: @shanepcrker

The idea of keeping his relationship with Holly secret from her family had never sat right with Nate, especially given how open he was with his own family, but keeping it from Shane in particular had always been an issue. Nate and Shane had been friends before Nate even knew who Holly was and even though he had agreed to keep it secret for Holly, it had been his one bug in the relationship. He had hoped one day he and Holly could tell him calmly, in a controlled manner, but the last thing he had wanted was for Shane to find out by overhearing a conversation.

As his doorbell alerted him to someone walking to the door, Nate flicked on the coffee machine before making his way to the door. He had texted Shane, asking him over if he did want to talk things through, or rightfully punch Nate in the jaw, but he was still a little shocked he had turned up. Opening the door, Nate stepped to the side and offered his friend a small smile. "Thanks for coming, I wasn't sure you would but I am grateful. Coffee?"

"Hot brother number one! It's been far too long!" As soon as she saw Shane in the crowd, Lia's mischievous side perked up. She had nicknames Holly's brothers from the second she had met them years ago, something she wasn't shy about in front of them. It was pointless being shy when she had openly ogled them during her visits to the ranch, especially when the weather was hot.

Finishing off the egg roll she had sampled, Jiya dusted her hands off before leaning over to nudge him gently. "I don't want to ruin your day but I do have a date here, so you know, try and control yourself." Smirking at him, Lia threw him a wink, unable to help herself from teasing. "Are you here with your adorable son or here on your own?"
