‘’This is Alison Kitchner, reporting for CTV News. Back to you, Graham.’’ She was given the cut signal and sighed, relieved that that was over. '’How was that, Jared?’’ she asked her camera guy, who gave her a thumb’s up as he fiddled with his camera. ‘’Lookin’ beautiful as always, Ali,’’ he commented. While he said it every time, it still put a smile on her face. ‘’Thanks. Hey, there’s a coffee shop around the corner, you want a cup?’’ ‘’Sure, black with three cream?’’ ‘’You got it. I’ll be back in ten.’’ She handed him the microphone before reaching for her purse in the van. She waved a goodbye and then started towards the coffee shop.
But as she walked, she passed an alley where she heard some sort of commotion - what she thought was grunts and groans of pain to be exact. Curiosity got the better of her as she decided to investigate. But she was careful, being smart like a good reporter. Taking out her cell phone, she set it to video as she crept and hid behind the dumpster, watching what she confirmed was a fight. Though the alley was shadowed by buildings, there was still enough light for her to capture the fight clearly enough for the police to use later. The surveillance was going fine, until she got a text and the ring tone suddenly chirped - loudly. Alison gasped, realizing her stupidity.
