Difficult was it to relate to this girl on occasion.  So quiet it was rare she would speak her wants and needs to the group, and Cloud was sometimes no different. 

It was, indeed, apparent that she had an affinity with the merc more so than any other member of his ragtag team - even Marlene struggled to drag a word out of her - but moments like this were a struggle. Moments where she would lock down and invert into her own head... 

If only he knew what she was thinking. 

“You’ll tell us won’t you, if something’s bothering you, yeah?” 

Cloud couldn’t help her until she was willing to help herself.

“Considering my usual Christmas celebration is a bottle of wine and an early bedtime, I think having some company would at least be a minor improvement,” Karen replied with a shrug. “But if you’re not game for some wine and a holiday special or two, that’s fine by me.”

“Alone..together? Like….just hanging out or somethin’?” -He’s squinting at her like he smells a trap. Which is ridiculous Chi she probably doesn’t want to be alone is all OR she thinks you shouldn’t be alone either. Be good.- “….I’m not very good at gift giving.”

“Meh, I don’t need gifts as much as I just don’t feel like spending my Christmas on my own again. It sort of sucks being on your own at the end of the year,” Karen replied with a shrug. “If you don’t want to, no biggy.”

Walter shrugged his shoulders and looked at the shirt almost examining it. “I’m pretty sure that’s my shirt.” He related his voice less confident this time. “I suppose it doesn’t matter you look great in it.”

Karen couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at that. “It’s not like you to start handing out compliments Rorschach,” she said eyeing him with no small amount of confusion.

Blake shook his head with a soft laugh.  “I just wanted to tell you I made eggs, but sure I don’t mind looking either,” he told her with a grin on his way to her.  His hand held her cheek so that he could pull her face to his for a soft kiss.  “You look great no matter how much or little you wear,” he confessed.

“Oh, eggs huh? how did you make them and is there toast?” Karen asked staying leaned in nice and close to him. “And if it’s like that might as well have breakfast without putting on a heck of a lot more than just this, though you might need to take a little off to make it fair.”
