Hello Again

Kickboxing class days were always Elijah’s favorite. She felt her most powerful on those days. She was ready to take out her rainbow cape, the one she’d made for herself as kind of a joke, ‘Super Gay’, and it turned out to be her favorite thing to wear every year throughout the month of June. As she walked into the coffee shop nearest her gym, Elijah sighed softly, internally kicking herself for not stuffing it in her bag before leaving home. She should have anticipated the need to tell the world or rather the random people she came into contact with, in between the gym and home how she felt on the inside.
Shaking off the regret and falling back into the feeling of strength, Elijah practically glided to the counter ready to order her soy lavender latte. She stopped to admire a new piece of art on the wall and unintentionally bumped into someone unexpected. “Oh, I am so sorr-... Ronnie...” Elijah’s stomach dropped and so did that strength she was feeling so good about. There was a storm of emotions brewing in her belly, and the urge to flee was strong with this one, but alas she resisted. Mostly because that face as much as she ached at the sight, was her favorite, and she couldn’t help but be a glutton for punishment.
“Heeey, you. H-how are you?”
