Part of him was starting to regret his decision to figure out what the hell was going on, and yet, his whole body seemed to have a mind of his own, rooting him on his current spot and preventing him from turning around and just go back to the cabin with the rest of the others. However he was about to dimiss the whole ordeal with being a fragment of his own imagination, after all with his overworked mind and the stress still running high through his frame, it could very well be the case.
Except he suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar face, much paler than what he remembered, but just as he saw him, he was gone, deeper in the forest. What the fuck ? Did he started allucinating too ? Maybe with everything going on Mike was really losing his mind, however it felt too real, and there was a voice at the back of his mind telling him to follow.
And so he did, fingers tightening around the fallen branch he was holding, and feet were quick against the wet grass, despite the way he almost, just almost stumbled over his own feet when reaching the opening. Brows furrowed as he looked around, each passing second feeling like an eternity. Was that how insanity felt like ?
