“Oh.” She giggles, running her fingers through his hair. “Did you miss me?” she asks, half-teasing. She missed him. And she’s not sure what happened on the latest mission, if this was a please distract me kiss or an I’m so glad to be home kiss or just an I love you and just wanted to give you a good kiss kiss, but she’s going to keep him right here as long as possible. “Does this mean that you’re mine for a little while?”
“Well, yes,” Jim murmurs, bumping his nose affectionately against hers. He’s straddling her lap, which in retrospect was a terrible idea when the chair involved is the swiveling kind, but at this point he doesn’t particularly care: all he wants is to be as close as physically possible. Jim kisses the corner of Riona’s mouth; the tip of her nose; her forehead. “But I’m always yours.”
