“wait…what do you mean, you got a weird text?” it couldn’t be a prank. no one even knew they were related — did they? “show me.”

“i really don’t wanna talk about my family right now, okay?”

“what, you don’t like our chances?” mary smirked, kicking at a loose clump of dirt with one filthy sneaker. they’d been so cute when she bought them, but after less than 48 hours in the wilderness, they were practically ruined. typical. “i never should’ve let you guys convince me to go camping,” she remarked snidely. placing blame probably wasn’t the most helpful thing to do, but she didn’t care. this was definitely nicole’s fault. at least in part.

“i feel nothing for you. absolutely nothing.”

it had been almost two full months since their breakup, and mary was more than a little proud of the fact that she’d only spent about a week and a half of that time grieving. within that period, she’d barely left her bed, eaten at least three pints of ice cream, and cried a grand total of four times, which was more than she could remember having cried since prepubescence. having never experienced heartbreak before, she liked to think she’d handled it relatively well. she’d been going out with friends, getting good grades in her classes, even had a couple of tinder dates that admittedly went nowhere. she was over ezekiel. at least, that was what she thought...until she laid eyes on him, gazing at her from across the room at her favorite bar. without even realizing it, she found herself drifting over to him, leaving her friends bewildered and calling out her name. “what are you doing here?” her tone was more stunned than upset — she was in a daze. but underneath the fog of confusion, she could feel her heart squeeze painfully in her chest.

“maybe somebody brought contraband.”
@morronescamila
“why are you acting like this? are you jealous or something?”
