Lex: Hey heard you guys lost power too. You and Willow okay and staying warm?
@ofwildxhearts
Who: Lex and Rose and Daisy @ofwildxhearts Where: Social Worker Office
Lex knew this was a possibility. It's not like he expected nor wanted Rose to be in jail for her life. In fact he honestly hated he helped get her locked up at all but it was in the name of survival and while he didn't think Daisy or Rose or probably even Peyton would understand no matter how much he told them. It was what he would always do. Once upon a time Rose was a part of that survival. He thought he needed her to breath and no matter what happened he wouldn't scurry away to fight another day without her at his side. He loved her. A part of him always would. But he knew the difference now between a trauma bond that made it's way into love and pure true love. His daughter was that for him. Nothing in his life mattered if he didn't have Daisy. He would do anything to make sure she was safe and loved. That included being here feeling uncomfortable with his daughter in his lap after the social worker assured him Rose was clean and would be monitored for the time being. He pressed his lips to the top of the girls head looking over at Rose.
"Baby girl it's okay. You've seen pictures of your mom." he whispered softly not able to look at Rose for the moment worried what he'd see. Worried about anger or hatred or disgust. All things he deserved. "Go over and say hi. Give her a hug I'm sure she's missed you while she was away." he said setting the girl on the ground who looked up at her mother and he smiled seeing how unafraid the little girl looked even in front of a stranger. She was so strong and he was reminded again how little it felt like he contributed to her make up. She was so clearly Rose's daughter. She was all the best parts of her and he was glad his cowardice hadn't infected his child.
