Jordan: If anyone else asked him to spend his evening at a sign-painting night, he would've laughed and would've said ''Fuck no.'' But one of his sisters had been the one asking and so he agreed right away. He probably was the only one there wearing actual good clothes. He didn't plan on actually painting and risking staining his expensive suit. He was on his way to pick up more blue for his sister when he recognized Dorcas. ''What the fuck are you doing here?''
Dorcas: Dorcas wasn't going to miss out on a chance to have a night mostly to herself, so when Jodie from the parents group chat offered to babysit Demeter for her, she jumped at the chance. Sign painting wasn't exactly her forte, but it was better than not doing anything. She found she was actually excited for this thing, until she saw Jordan. And unfortunately, he saw her, too. She scoffed in response, reaching past him for the yellow. "I could ask you the same thing."
