Where: Thaw and Bloom Market Status: Completed With: @hllboymglds Lake, River, Caspian, and Jodie
Lake: While walking through the market with Caspian, bags heavier with the weight of their metalwork purchases, they eventually make their way back around to the booth selling knitted goods Caspian had mentioned earlier in the day. And as they walk.. River: A familiar set of arms with fuzzy pink sleeves wraps around Caspian's middle from behind.
Caspian: Caspian had finished his latte a while ago, his hands shoved in his jacket pockets as he walked with Lake. His bag hung from his wrist, and he tried to keep his mind off of the heavy feeling of the flask in his back pocket when a set of arms wrapped around his waist. He jumped slightly, looking down and relaxing immediately when he saw the familiar fuzzy pink sleeves. "River, you surprised me," He said, patting the others hands.
Jodie: Jodie was now 250 dollars richer than they had been that morning. And they had picked up a notebook from the Book Nooks stand a few stalls over so they could write down Minho's capitalism lesson, and remember how to appropriately price their items.
River: There's a giggle that floats from behind Caspian's back and then the rest of them follows, slinging and sliding around him, still with their arms around him to bring their bright cheery face in front, looking up at him with glittering brown eyes. Damp earth after rainfall. "Did I? Did I surprise you? I was so sneaky, wasn't I? You didn't even hear me."
Caspian: "You did, you were very sneaky," Caspian confirmed, sliding one of his arms over River's shoulder, casual as anything. He didn't mention that there were far too many people around them to have given Cas a chance at hearing them. "How have you been enjoying the market?"
River: "It's so fun. I saw a stall where someone is selling purses they made out of underwear. They stitched the edges where the leg holes are and then put a clasp around the waistband part and attached a strap to it making it a cute clutch purse. Isn't that fun?" And they pull it out to show it off.
Lake: He hums thoughtfully at the sight of it. "I really hope that isn't used.."
Caspian: Caspian wrinkled his nose slightly, looking at Lake briefly. He certainly didn't adore the sound of underwear bags, but he was far from one to yuck someone else's yum. "It looks…lovely," He told River, offering them a slight smile.
River: The edges of River's lips start to slip as they look between Lake and Caspian. "I've been betrayed. You both hate it."
Caspian: "No, no, of course not," Caspian said quickly, shaking his head. For a lawyer, he was often a terrible lawyer in the company of friends. "It's just…well, it's a bit…eccentric."
River: There it is. Their lips have now fully turned upside down. A frown. A deep, deep frown that could rival the depths of the deepest ocean. Such a frown like that could only mean they were well and truly upset.
Lake: He flicks the side of River's pouting cheek. "Stop teasing him."
River: And the frown is immediately gone, back is the sunshine on River's face, back is the brilliant beams of pearly whites as they grin wholeheartedly at Caspian. "I got you! I got you, didn't I? You really thought I was upset!" Clearly this is something River has always done. Pretending to be upset but they never can quite hold the facade for long. Honesty burns hot in their veins.
Caspian: Caspian watched the twins interact, rolling his baby blue eyes as he took a sip from his quickly cooling coffee. "Anyway," He said, shaking his head at River. He gestured for the crochet table, where the person behind the table has been watching the whole exchange go down.
River: Their attention is quickly moved, spinning round to inspect the table laden with all sorts of interesting crochet goodies. "Oh! These are so cute!" They pick up a spider plush that looks like an orange. "We should get something matching, all three of us. How much are these?" They ask the one behind the table with a sweet smile.
Jodie: Jodie smiled as the three turned their eyes onto their stall, and stepped forward to help them. "Oh, the spiders are 50 dollars a piece."
Caspian: "I think that's a wonderful idea, River," Caspian told the blond twin, smiling at Jodie as well, before looking down at the spiders.
Lake: "Must it be spiders?" Lake isn't overly fond of them even if these ones are adorably fashioned to look like harmless fruit.
Jodie: "We have other options," Jodie said, walking to another part of the table and gesturing for the remaining two goblin creatures, a few snails.
Lake: Chuckling to himself as he picks up a goblin, "Ah, yes this suits you Casper. Far better than a spider."
Caspian: Caspian rolled his eyes at Lake, still looking down at the spiders. He pointed at the dragon fruit spider, looking at River. "Perhaps we ought to let Lake be a little different, hm? Then it can be something for just us."
River: They press closely into Caspian's side at the suggestion, delighted by it. "Ohh! Yes yes! I like that and this one is so cute, right? Doesn't it look like me?" To the dragon fruit spider that Caspian pointed to.
Lake: "A snail suits me better anyway," as he exchanges the goblin in his hand for a snail with a blue shell.
Caspian: Caspian hummed in agreement with River, looking down at the dragonfruit spider. "It does remind me of you, in a way," He murmured, tilting his head to the side.
River: "Because it's pink! Like me," they wave their fuzzy pink sleeves in front of Caspian.
Lake: Disregarding River's flopping pink arms, he asks the person behind the table, "What yarn do you use? It's so soft," as he handles the blue shelled snail he had picked up.
Caspian: "That it is," Caspian said, looking down at River. He watched them wave their fuzzy pink sleeves at him with a look that was between amusement and genuine care.
Jodie: "Oh, I use caron yarn," Jodie said, tearing their eyes away from River and Caspian, to look at Lake. "It's one of my favorites."
River: "And you'll have this one," River holds the orangey spider against their own cheek, smiling brightly. "They're lovers." Already creating a fantasy life for their crochet creatures, "but they're long distance and that makes them upset but they make it work." They seem happy about this.
Lake: A private smile lifts the corner of Lake's lip. "It's one of my favorites as well. I haven't had the time to do it lately but I, too, enjoy crochet. It's a nice past time. However do you make the time for all this?"
Caspian: Caspian listened to River intently, eyebrows raising a smidge. His lips curled into a smile as he crossed his arms, looking at the spiders. "Sounds like you've got it all figured out. We'll have to let them facetime," Caspian said, semi seriously.
Jodie: Jodie smiled back at Lake, and looked down at their creations. "Oh, most of these I did a while ago. I had a lot of time on my hands when I was pregnant," They shrugged. "Mostly when I do it now, I do it when I can't sleep."
