7x13 - Three Billboards
Young Jason Dixon point of view. ★
This part specifically feels like something both Jason and Red passed through together as kids/teens. This song is specifically from Jason's view.
Jason beaten Red, as the bully he is, his pride is intact as the red-haired boy cried hurt. Jason did what his dad expected of him, what his friends expected of him, and what society tolerates at such time. Jason felt like just doing his job, putting the 'sissy' at his place. He walks away alone, no shame in his acts as he walks towards a tree house, he carves the tree and then Red appears again, holding his bleeding nose and his tears, that's the place he goes to stay by himself, even there he doesn't find peace. They look at each other. Blue eyes, shining with tears but not defeated, meet the furious yet unsure brown eyes, not as intimidating as he wanted to look, never intimidating enough. Deep down, they ain't as different as they think they are.
