The rookie fandom is a prime example of how much random culture changed after covid. Theres no joy or whimsy over there!! Everyone is so strict and miserable. If you even think about liking a ship that’s not cannon you’ve got the fun police at your door. It’s so weird seeing people have meltdowns over there ships that you like. It’s like these people feel that they’re obligated to comment on post sharing their displeasure about a ship that they aren’t the target audience for.

My thoughts about 8x06

MY GOD THIS EPISODE WAS INSANE AND INTENSE AND EVERYTHING IN THE LAST FEW MINUTES. Yeah, it was definitely action packed and I liked that a lot! But why the helly did they do that explosion so near the end of the episode?! But I do think it was the right timing for that. Yeah, they left it on a cliffhanger and that's just, yeah, what tv shows do.

I still haven't processed everything that happened in this episode just yet, but here are my thoughts on this episode:

I loved chenford both confiding in Genny for needing help with their Valentine's Day gifts

The "happy Valentine's Day" chenford scene in the kitchen was chef's kiss

I do notice now more in this season that with some days on patrol when something happens in front of her that Celina gets really effected because of it. Poor girl :( I recognize myself in this, being effected by everything, even when it doesn't make sense for you to be or when it's not "necessary" for you to be effected by it. I like seeing characters who feel so deeply and get effected by everything to an extreme level on my screen, it makes me feel seen in ways.

Genny once again back to the rescue for Lucy, describing the book cover that Tim read when he was a child

I loved chenford waving at each other the scene right after Lucy hangs up the phone

GENNYYYY is back (fundraising gala). I love herrrrr. I feel like she's really back now, for a while. Especially since I think we'll get to see their mom appear in episode 8.

Bailey not going to DC?! WHAT?! Yeah, still don't believe it. It's too good to be true. And in the synopsis of episode 7 it says "while Nolan and Bailey navigate their long-distance relationship", so she is indeed going to DC. It doesn't make any sense, that scene.

Not Tim being dirty minded when Lucy leads him to a separate room in Bailey & Nolan's house, so she can give his Valentine's Day gift. My fav quotes/lines: "Get your mind out of your gutter" and what Tim said b4 this, "I love it- I love you", "Can I get mine now?" & "I will be right back"

I loved how Tim walked away from Lucy to search for Genny to talk about the gift he got and being afraid his gift for Lucy is nowhere as good as what she got him. I LOVED THAT SCENE 🥹

LUCY OPENED HER GIFT THE NEXT DAY AND SHE LOVED IT. "I'm sorry it's not the best" "Are you kidding me? They match my necklace" AH MATCHING EARRINGS FOR THE NECKLACE SHE GOT FROM HIS ON THE LAST VALENTINE'S DAY (5x17), awwww my heart <3 🥹💞🫶

"You found them and you didn't tell me?!" THE CUTEST MOMENT EVER + that pink shirt Lucy was wearing in this scene LOOKS SO GOOD on herrrrrr

Harpez friendship break-up hit me hard....... I love them. But I understand why Nyla said what she said and yeah it's for the best. I hope it's over soon for her. But knowing this show, it's probably not I think, sadly :(

Lucy hits someone with the shop or the man walked in front of the shop?? idk which one of the two it was, that all happened very QUICK. L: "This entrance is what's cursed"

Realization: THAT MAN PLANTED SOMETHING ON THAT SHOP WHICH MADE THE STATION BLOW UP

the explosion just happened and pretty soon after Celina was like "I-I need to find Miles". I do ship them and I'm here for Celina & Rodge to break up and for her to end up with Miles. I really don't like Rodge that much if I'm being honest.

MY GOD THIS SCENE IS INTENSE!!! (talking about the explosion and the aftermath trying to get everyone out)

OH MY GOD MILES........ OH NO TIM. *shocked* the desk FELL on him + Lucy finding & saving him 🥹

WHY IS THIS SO INTENSE? AND WHY IS IT IN THE FINAL MINUTES OF THE EPISODE?

Celina finding Miles and saving him. Not much to say about this, except yeah well you can see that she just realllyyyy cares about him

Wesley and Angela hug in the hospital: "I thought I lost you", cute scene

CHENFORD HOSPITAL SCENE WAS CHEF'S KISS. I loved Lucy saying "Although it would be so great if we never had to survive a fire again" & what Tim said as reaction: "Tell me about it"

Me realizing: Okay, parallel incoming. Celina siting near Miles in his hospital room (vs her doing the same for Aaron a while ago, 5x22)

I feel like the chenford scenes we got in this episode made up for the lack of chenford moments (sometimes) during this season so far.

Okay, final conclusion time of this episode: I LOVED IT, but it was also a very intense/extreme episode near the end. I loved the Valentine's Day part of the episode. The title of the episode now after watching it, made some good sense why they chose it. The chenford Valentine's Day scenes were all toooooo cute.

TBH I spoiled myself on TikTok and say about the harpez break-up and I thought something really bad had happened, like way worse than it turned out to be.
