Three Coins in a Fountain (1954)
6.5/10
This movie starts out great, but it lacked a good resolution. The ending was too convenient, too abrupt. There's some wonderful tension and conflict created, that continues to build up throughout the film. That's part of what makes it such a great watch. The plot is, overall, well written, and there are some great characters and notable one-liners.
However, the wonderful watch is spoiled by the ending, which concludes far too fast to be realistic. People conveniently change their minds, and everything conveniently wraps up nicely. The most believable love story had an ending that wasn't even addressed, it just ended on a more upbeat note. This movie is proof that the journey is better than the destination. (Worth a watch if you're into old films.)
