Tumblr Theme Creators -- Some Demands
I am pretty consistently changing my theme. (Because I'm under the delusion that people actually look at my blog instead of just seeing what I post in their dashes) It takes a half hour, MINIMUM, to find a theme that I am willing to put up with. Part of the reason is because there are so many basic features that aren't included as a customizable option. I'll list for you some of my mandatory, and preferred options I would like to see in Tumblr themes:
MANDATORY
- Ability to turn off infinite scroll (I used to like it, but it just takes 10 times longer for my blog to load)
- Show my separate page links (Seriously, why would someone not provide the ability to explore the links to my pages on my blog? I have figured out how to do the HTML to just insert the links into my description, but that's just ridiculous. And fuck the custom links, its the same shit as if you would just display a link to my blog pages; since you can't provide links for anything off of Tumblr anyway!)
- Don't require me to have a certain background or sidebar image (Seriously. I may like the layout of your theme, but why am I required to have your ugly ass palm tree shit as my sidebar background?)
- STOP CUTTING OFF IMAGES. Oh my god, there are some themes where its like "fuck you, if your picture doesn't fit into this box we provide we will just cut it off". And there are a lot of themes like this. Who would want this? You can't tell me there are people out there who only re-blog small shit that will fit those restricted boxes.
- Stop posting about your theme 429048345839403 times under whatever type theme tag I am looking under. Like sometimes I will search for "three column themes" and your post about your theme will constantly be shown. Get the fuck out of my face you loser
PREFERRED
- Option to turn captions on and off
- Ability to change the font of the text
- Ability to toggle between 1, 2, 3 + columns
- Ability to change the text size. Seriously sometimes themes will have small ass text, and I'll like everything else about it. It's a pain in the ass when I have to find a different theme just because of that one reason
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I had to get it out cause I don't see anyone else raising hell about this bull shit! Oh and one other thing, what's with the $49 themes? Do people actually pay for that shit? Lol
