Crystal Star Temari. This traditional design is based on a older design called ‘Mitsubishi’ - which means ‘Three Diamonds’, although they get lost in the finished design, which is done in two layers, one aqua and one turquoise. It could be stitched in thin metallic ribbon, but I opted to use 6-strand embroidery floss, flattened out to show the six strands. As usual, this was done in the suggested color scheme on emerald, but I prefer threads with more color contrast (last photo - turquoise and aqua on teal).
