When I was young and into my teens, my Mom and I used to play a game where we would ask the question over and over, Are You My Mother? We would get very dramatic and die laughing and I would usually end up on her lap in her rocking chair. Shortly after Mom died in the fall of 2016, I walked into a local cafe and the image that you see in this photo was drawn on the chalkboard with the same caption. I knew it was my Mom speaking to me through this image. I felt the familiar duality of grief begin to move through me. Ache and Gratitude. The ache for a Mama no longer here to rock me. And the Gratitude for her Spirit that still gently nourishes me. #mama #love #rockme #areyoumymother #bird #littlebird #feelit #three #threeenergy #yourgriefhasgifts #birdsofafeather #joy #joyoracle #ellenrobinsonwords #thejoypractice®️ (at Inspire, the joy practice)
