Chapter 1: home is where you are

It was quiet. Too quiet. He turned around him, seeing a shift in the dirt that hadn't been moved before, and turned again, finding nothing. His blue eyes scanned around him. "Odysseus?" He called out. Another shift. A sound of feet moving across the ground. But once he turned, there was nothing there, just turn piling where feet once was. He went to open his mouth to call out for Odysseus again— "Got you!" A familiar voice yelled, and suddenly Poseidon's body was being grabbed from behind and scooped up into the air. A yell escaped his throat from the sudden shift, finding himself sitting on a man's shoulder. Odysseus. "Who's small now?" He said with a proud smile.

Chapter 3

"What's on your mind, my king?" Odysseus said softly. "You have been... different," Poseidon admitted, the blue ends of his fingers still playing with his hair as he admired the silver strands. He thought he saw less in his hair than last time, or perhaps that was because he looked at his bangs. Poseidon wondered if it was the ichor and ambrosia that his body had once rested in almost a year ago, somehow affecting his mortality in some way. He did look younger, though he still looked like he had aged; there was something about how he carried himself and how his face looked less tired. Less wrinkles. "Different how?" His husband responded as he leaned into his touch.
