So... I traded off my Sony A7R which was the largest sensor I’ve used to the present and then returned to Micro Four Thirds for a brief stay; never fathom jumping back to @Canon because of the assumption that their marketing was always geared towards overnight pros but after handling their 4 year old EOS-M in a second hand camera store in Albuquerque; I was genuinely impressed with the quality of Canon 22mm F2 Pancake lens and then I saw the generous and affordable price point of the #CanonM50 and was able to get it second hand in like new condition from Adam Roth at @alwaysbehindbars for $400 in Las Vegas. I’m going to start getting everything I need from him because he only deals directly with photographers and can often get gear at way lower prices than retail - so I have to shout him out because he’s the real deal! Contact @alwaysbehindbars if you need something specific in photo gear; it’s his full time biz to help photographers. He’s like a gun runner but with Camera Gear; I suggested calling himself Camera Cartel!! ;) So I sold off what Olympus gear I had and I’ve been testing this Setup for a few weeks and LOVE It! I might have to do an informal review... Today the $100 dollar Thrifty Fifty - Canon 50MM F1.8 lens arrived which is the equivalent of an 80mm portrait length on the M50. This is what I’ll test on our next shoot, Maddy @thesundancekid__ ~ who reached out yesterday requesting another model shoot in St. George. I heartedly recommend the M50 after shooting with it for a few weeks now. My first film SLR at 16 years old was the Canon Rebel X and returning to my roots feels great. The #ThriftyFifty was my first prime lens! :) (at Cedar City, Utah)
