In twelve days, Indie Bands with a Mission will be hosting a music festival on August 18, 2012 to benefit Thrive DC and Alternative House at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church in Northwest D.C. The concert festival features eight musical groups from the Washington metropolitan area, Baltimore, and Portland.
At 4:30 p.m. in St. Stephen’s auditorium, Amenta Abioto from Portland, Oregon will kick off the show with soul and magic. Then, Washington, D.C. area rock bands Treble Lifter, Manta Ray, Stereosleep, and Brenda will follow. Baltimore indie rockers Muted Songbirds and Treeforts, who have played a benefit show for Indie Bands with a Mission in the past, will take the stage next. Last but not least, the DC area indie dreampop band The Sea Life will close out the show.
Presale tickets are only $7 each. Tickets at the door are $10 each. Indie Bands with a Mission will be accepting cash and major credit cards at the door. Thrive DC, Alternative House, and the eight musical groups will receive the profits collected from ticket sales.
Indie Bands with a Mission will also have $1 drinks (Water Bottles, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Sunkist, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc) and baked goods for sale! Also, Indie Bands with a Mission will have a limited supply of the fork guitar t-shirts on sale at the show!
