2 THESSALONIANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 2

SCRIPTURE:

Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and a good hope.  May He encourage your hearts and give you strength in every good thing you do or say. ~ 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

OBSERVATION:

Christ Himself..

...and God our Father... Himself... 

Loved me...

...and gave me eternal comfort and a good hope through His grace...

...and continues to give me comfort and a good hope through His grace...

He encourages my heart...

...and gives me strength in every GOOD thing I do or say... 

So why don't I do and/or say more good things?

Maybe because I try to do them in my own strength?

APPLICATION:

Lean into His comfort and hope...

Lean into His grace...

Lean into His encouraging strength instead of my own - which is weakness...

Do and say good things...

PRAYER:

Father God - Thank You for loving me and showing me grace, for providing comfort and the ultimate good hope through Jesus... I ask forgiveness for leaning into my own strength instead of accepting Yours, of relying on You for everything I do or say to make them good - Please continue to encourage my heart that I might encourage those around me - In Jesus's Name, and for Your glory, honor, and praise... 

May He encourage your hearts and give you strength in every good thing you do or say. 𝖌

belonging through grace - and perhaps this is the true gift of seeing, to find that I am without cause, appearing by equal measure as every...

Through grace:

belonging through grace – and perhaps this is the true gift of seeing, to find that I am without cause, appearing by equal measure as every other wonder of the world. To see, and my value is without question, my worth now fully accepted. I belong, and more, I am free of any burden of the past, belonging new with every moment seeing.

it’s through grace that everything appears – that I recognize myself at once as both capacity and it’s fulfillment, emptiness and appearance, and find no reason for any of this to be save the joy of simply being life. I appear for the sake of being.

it’s a rare gift indeed.

from this point, my philosophical questions mostly fall aside. It’s enough to see, to be so intimately involved with life. My inquiry turns from any question of why to one of exploration of my own expansion. Through grace, I’ve somehow been given the world. It’s here, appearing now as myself and view. It’s all at once. No question will provide an answer that brings me more intimate than exactly where I am. Through grace – is just another term for mystery.

what appears is all that really matters.

seeing takes place now, an instant meditation – it’s brief and eternal, that at once I can disappear as a self with individual opinions, and awaken to a selfless presence abiding all the while. There is no need to question further.

it’s all here to be explored.

If you’re afraid, fear will always be your master.

When you speak, will it be fear waiting for your words? When you live, will it be fear waiting for your life? When you love, will it be fear loving you in return?

Growing in fear, living in fear, and dying in fear.

That’s what it means to let fear be your master.

Simply remembering that God is always right beside you your entire day can change your life. Remembering that He's there and has big plans for your day, some things will be hard but you can tell Him about it, and happy things will happen and He'll be there to share those with you too. Through thick and thin, God is always there. He is the best friend you could ever have.
