(( I would like to hear headcanons ))

(( I’M SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG! ;A; I got kind of distracted… b-but the wait shall last not much more! here, lakitu headcannons time! All under the read more of course -w- ))

 * Lakitus are rather rare compared to other races like goombas or toads, so their poblation isn’t as big as with others.

* In fact, despite being considered koopas (mainly because we see them most of the time as part of the koopa troopa army) they weren’t part of the koopa kingdom at first,they just joined the kigdom ages ago thanks to some agreements and alliances.

* They are one of the most neutral races, and despite their main affiliation is with the Koopa Kingdom, is not rare to see lakitus working for other kingdoms.

* About their traits, lakitus are identified by their sight, acurracy and speed. This makes them excel at guard duties and they’re usually “elite” soldiers in the army, usually being also explorers or spies.

* However, they aren’t only restricted to military life. They’re comonly seen working as postmen, fishermen or cameraman, where some of their traits are really useful, aslo able to go to places where others may have more issues.

* In fact, lakitus aren’t the strongest one, they usually rely on their inteligence and speed  rather than in their stregth to get out of trouble. This made them collect quite a lot of information as time passed, being usually the ones  who get any info about anything new that happened. This made them have a rather decent library, and a lot of knowledge about their world.

* About their gear, a lakitu made gear is caractericed by their lightness and durability, like the ropes on the fishing rods, which are indestructible by normal means. Only the craftsmen know how to create this rope, and refuse to share how is done.

* Lakitus have some magic in them, alligned mainly to electicity and weather. However, only a few lakitus can control thunder perfectly (becoming stormy lakitus), so most of the times, normal lakitus won’t show much of their magic capabilities, at most creating small sparks.

* However, thier elemental afiliation isn’t their only magic in them. Every lakitu knows some basic magic to alter weight and sizes of diferent objects, which allows them to lift and carry stuff bigger and heavier than them.

* Finishing with their magic, lakitus have some control on  disguise magic. This is mainly noticed when you notice one: lakitus aren’t easily noticed usually, not unless you have a trained eye or they’re not trying to be unnoticed. Military trained lakitus also know how to hide their gear so it doesn’t call as much attention (Laki’s fishing rod is an example if you saw his proper weapon)

* Going to their clouds, all lakitus are born without a cloud bound to them. To get theirs, once they reach certain age they go trough throug a ritual called “The Cloud Ritual” where only prepared ones will return with their cloud.

* Clouds are mute, but they atr able to think and to express themselves, they just don’t do any noise.

* Also the bond between a lakitu and their clouds will affect how they act between eachother. For instance, a weak bond will cause the lakitu to phase trough their cloud usually, while a scrong boundwill ensure their cloud won’t leave their feet.

* Clouds are also the main catalizer of lakitu’s powers, but not all clouds are as capable as others. Storm clouds are the best to catalize their power, and often storm lakitus or important lakitu figures are seen riding those (but is not impossible to be a normal one and ride one of those).
