Remember them? They just had a reunion concert in Oakland this week and it was crazy the amount of people who showed up to experience a throwback into their teenage years. The boyband post the N’Sync and BSB days as Puff Daddy or P Diddy tried to revive boy bands and girl groups during the hey day of Destiny’s Child. We’re also in the age of another boy band explosion so this felt like an appropriate throwback and tribute.

Waaaayyy throwback into the early 2000s. This was around when Youtube was starting and people were uploading covers as well as original songs. If the internet was how it is now, Jeremy Passion would have had one of the best and viral song of that time. It was so original with sweet lyrics and his amazing voice tops it all off. This ukulele version does not do the original version justice but it still brings back all the feels especially on this rainy day and I’m going to need some hot lemonade for my cold.

Before bops there were slaps. This song definitely slapped back in 2008. I was a sophomore in college and absolutely obsessed with this song. The early use of a trap beat, the minimal staccato “I’m Mikey and I-I-I rock” chorus, and the addictive West Coast style rapping. Highly recommend for those times when you are feeling yourself and throwing a stank face.
