To catch a Spider, they sent a Diamond. Not my first choice, maybe, but then the odds just worked in my favor. Her inexperience made life a hell of a lot easier for me- at least, that's what I thought before I really paid attention to her. It an was impressive thing, her instinct. Something to appreciate- but still lacking for sure. The Killer needed for the job. She was not the most qualified to try and stake a claim over the bounty on my head, which made me wonder if they didn't want me to kill her, but what she lacked in credentials, she sure as hell made up for in plain intrigue. You had to hand it to her, being able to follow even the ghost of my scent after my long stint with the KGB and S.H.I.E.L.D. was deserving of something. My attention at least. The woman put me on edge just enough that I was forced to up my game for the fist time in quite a long time.
But then maybe not enough to take her too seriously. Some days, like today, I just couldn't help but break the code of silence between us, to let her know that I knew she was there. "Are you just going to keep skulking around or are you going to make a move? If you were my mission, you'd be dead by now."
