I'm quite excited to have a new cassette release out on Jyugam titled Three Records of Lingering Life 《余生三记》. It is a collaborative EP recorded and produced with Yukes玉刻. The first piece of the EP recounts arriving at Sago Islet after a long sea journey, evoking memories of an earlier time in life. The second piece conveys a deep concern for life's uncertainties and reflects on the rise and fall of the past. This bold, robust feeling dissolves in the third piece, where a scent recalls a different reality, reminding the listener of our present and wistful existence.

thruoutin - Broken Bridge 《 断 桥 》

Produced and released in Mexico City by silencio epi

experimental / e-pipa / dark ambient

Broken Bridge is an audio representation of an aged bridge coming to the end of its time ushering people over a small waterway. Now in the last quarter of its life, the bridge creaks and crumbles with each traveler that passes but continues to hold their narratives, a snapshot into each of their particular journeys. From the beginning of its descent into decay until its eventual demise, the music within recounts the final stories the bridge’s voyagers have to tell.

The central instrument in this work is a modified Chinese lute designed by thruoutin and engineer and musician Mengqi. This electrified zither, named the Mengqipa (a portmanteau of Mengqi and pipa), met its own demise shortly after recording, its bridge snapping in two. Broken Bridge therefore holds the final recordings of this one-of-a-kind instrument, embodying the countless journeys that had gone before.

Last month, I recorded a collaborative piece with contemporary experimental musician Aiqi. The album immerses the listener in a transcendent atmosphere, with an overall sound that evokes the essence of autumn. I’m excited to share it with you all once it is released! 上个月我和现代实验音乐人黄靄淇合作录制了一张专辑。专辑的内容带领听众进入一个超然的境界，整体音色散发着秋天的氛围。期待与大家分享这份作品！
