Gridman the Hyper Agent THE GATTAI Thunder Gridman
I've had it for a little bit, but I do now have every single canonical Gridman combo. I'm really happy having the entire lineup, even if they do take up a bit of space. It's so interesting comparing them both to their contemporaries as well as across timelines. What's similar and different from a design perspective, etc.
The Good: Super fun transformation, decent enough posability. I love how the legs work. It does everything you'd probably want this toy to do, being a fairly accurate recreation of the original transformation without too much added rigamarole and adding posability.
The Bad: This was one of, if not the first The Gattai figure, and it does show in some ways. As I've handled a lot of newer ones, there's a lack of secure locks, ratchets, and some looser joints that make is a little less fun to mess with than its contemporaries.
Overall, because of some of its shortcomings, I'd say this is more of a collector piece than a toy at this point. Still, if you're like me and like the Girdman figures, it's a good grab with some fun engineering. And there's also the Tokusatsu version if you want a version with a bit more polish than this one.
