idk where to put this ramble so I'll do it here: I've had the insane privilege to collaborate with my fave fic writer of all time, Thunder_Puss (ao3, tumblr) this year, and I need a venue where I can take a second to publicly gush about her work in general, so here goes

so first of all Thunder_Puss is known for her fantastic multi-chapter AU fics but also has a ton of canon-based fics you should be aware of too, some good starters being The Main Thing for sexy and sweet present-day DM fic playing with ideas about ancient vampire physiology, and Open Concept for a succinct, tragic look at Loumand trying to hold on together in the 70s

but speaking about AU construction, what I love about the way Thunder_Puss is doing it out here (that I always want to shout from the rooftops) is how she's always taking on the question "if Armand is not a vampire, what are other ways he can have an unhinged and/or sinister power dynamic with Daniel?" and answers range from Armand hiring Daniel to eat hot peppers for his entertainment to Armand being a literal poltergeist in Daniel's home

she writes fics that are incredibly sexy, funny and thrilling but also have emotional depth to them that haunts you in the best way, like for just a few examples:

My Heart is a Hovel is both a fic where 69yo widower Daniel is pursued relentlessly by a hot ghost who can see his search history and sometimes snacks on his blood, and is also a gorgeous exploration of grief that's both heartbreaking and hopeful;

I only want to watch beautiful boys eat carolina reapers has a delicious "fucking before feelings" plot and content tags that might make you do a triple take and it is a hilarious ride to a destination where you then find yourself tearing up over Armand and Daniel finally being able to be earnest with each other;

and I feel like it goes without saying at this point but everyone who has told you that "You Just Have to Read The DM Cannibal AU, Trust Me (Oh My God the Pie Chapter)" is right about that too
