You see, though he is comedy relief, he actually reflects something powerful. Do you remember that quote from Bruce Lee? . ." I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” . Zenitsu reflects this. He was so bad at his art that he only could do one thing. Just one. But he perfected it and not only survived, but thrived. . I know what that feels like. To fail at so many things. To be mocked. To be surpassed. But I stuck to one thing and began to perfect it. . #inktober #inktober2019 Day 17, 18, and 19. Thunder Breathing // YA GONNA EAT LIGHTNING AND CRAP THUNDER Opted to draw a younger version of Kuwajima Jigoro, aka Thunder Gramps. Felt like a lot of hard decisions on this one. Some of the pages of calligraphy this time was to calm my nerves. Spent a lot of time reviewing ep 17 to see how the animators at Ufotable drew the lightning effects. In the end, my calligraphy was off-centered. Part of this drawing and the Water Breathing has been catharsis for me, since my grandfather passed last month.
