i do think that comet/roman discourse would go absolutely insane. like legally they are cousins [comets adopted, roman and jimmy did not acknowledge him as such in the slightest for twenty years], so we're off to a terrible start. then we consider that comet missed the formative years of social interaction [equivalent of about ~10 years as a feral child, was not expected to learn to properly verbally communicate, etc] which does affect him severely even as an adult but like he IS an adult you can't infantilize him like that. that's fucked up, he's clearly able to make his own decisions. roman is known to have bullied everyone in his life until he was like twenty and started to really hone in on who he wanted to target. which did include comet and his brothers actually but like specifically him and solo for being "embarrassing" in a very ableist sense. comet had to watch roman nearly kill jey, when jeys the entire reason comet didn't live and die in solitude on that island. and comet was on solos side for the whole leadership dispute and that was actually his first time on tv and not just occasionally working lighting and rigging when shows were in [manual, with his own wings] flying distance, and we all know how bad that fucked with romans perception of himself and the world around him, but he probably deserved it, but that's a crazy thing to come back from.
on the other hand romans socials are exclusively pictures of comet on the beach catching fish with his bare hands and having breakfast that's mostly berries and sleeping in the sun and playing with their hatchling and they're all captioned with shit like "i thank god every day for all the chances he's given me. he makes me a better man, a better leader, a better father. there's no one else in the world who has given me nothing but the truth, even when i didnt want it. our story is my favorite fairytale. every day with him is an adventure. he's my person. i love my boo."
so like there's layers to it. look how happy they are! it doesn't have to make sense.
