aaah thank you very much I've always been a talker like you hah or rather I just talk to myself but I was curious about astral travel and how you experience it :) I'll keep working on it <3
I technically bi-locate. At least, I think that's what TUmblr calls it. Basically, I always have a part of me over there (in several locations, usually) and then there is me here. And while I used to have to trance or dance or what have you to see and do stuff over there, I've broken down the barriers enough that I can usually sit somewhere quiet and pay attention to what is going on over there. So it's kinda like a switch that gets flipped btwn here and there.
That's also why I get distracted easily and often drift off mid conversation. I really need a bubble above my head that indicates when I'm actually paying attention because I will get itchy skin over here and decide I need to be doing something while trying to do things over there.... and get distracted and meander off mentally and quit paying attn (I do this over here, too).
But vision is not my strong suit. In fact, I don't have a strong suit. I don't see well, and I can't move very well because I can't see, and my hearing is absolute shit over there. This is largely why I have a household to keep my ass out of trouble because I really don't function very smoothly over there. Hell, the first house I lived in- it took me six months after we moved out to realize 'oh we had a front door'. I never used it- I just phased through the walls like an uncivilized heathen.
While I'm asleep, my vision and hearing are much better. However, my brain gets all stupid and I do all sorts of dumb ass stuff while asleep (such as saying embarrassing shit to people, or talking about clothing and shoes while we're brokering deals with mob bosses. Things like that). And I often find that my magix and other skills go bye-bye while asleep. So, uh, it's a crap shoot. idk why people put up with it, but they do.
So vision is really largely an impressions thing. When I first arrived there, I couldn't see or hear at all, and it's gotten better over the months. BUt I also think it's important for people to realize that I also do this every single day. So it takes a lot of practice and repeated effort to get better at it. And unfortunately, I don't know of any fast or quick ways to speed up the process. It just sorta is what it is.
If it is helpful to you, I do have a page of astral resources that may be useful.
