Akorad really didn’t know what came over him, but after fighting off wave after wave of demons by Adi’s side, he just... scooped her up in a hug and kissed her on the cheek.  He didn’t mean anything by it!  Really!  He was just excited, that’s all!

The broad, goofy grin he gave her when he set her down didn’t droop for a good minute, until it set in what he’d done.  Then, it was time to scramble for an explanation.

“I-- Sorry, I just-- I didn’t know if we’d make it out of that alive, and then we did, and---”  He paused, then wrinkled his nose.  “You, uh, have some shade essence in your hair...”

"It feels wrong to recruit a Templar," Adi said as she half cowered behind her advisors. "But my advisors seem to think you would make an excellent edition to our ranks." “Welcome?  This is...unexpected.”  He had a good idea of whose idea this was.  He wanted nothing to do with that ill-mannered adviser of hers, but because she was nice enough to ask, he bit his tongue.  

“Alright, just tell me where you want me.”  He shook her hand with great fervor.  “I look forward to working with you.”  His smile was genuine, but he still had his guard up seeing as the advisers were looking his way.  “Do they always do that?”  It made him uncomfortable.
