Octopuss Cozy with Octopussy Bond girl Janine Andrews, during a photoshoot ca 1983. Cozy and Janine had a short affair and it's said he asked for her to promote the album... And well, the movie, huh???
The first photo, with Cozy very Bond-like 0️⃣0️⃣7️⃣ kills me!!!
They were a lovely couple, huh???
@childoftheriver
All black 🖤 🖤 cool Cozy, I assume from his Sabbath days 🔥🔥 (the haircut, tank top and crucifix) .
Who's the lucky girl all smiles (and with good reason!!!) he's holding by her waist???
Not me, folks... Unfortunately!!!! 😅😅
Update: Indeed, this is Sabbath Cozy, in Vienna, in 1990 (thank you Simon Templar, my FB friend!!).
No details on the smiling lucky blonde though, hehe!!! 😁😁
#naughty boy
Cozy on his Honda RVF750R RC45 racing superbike 🔥🔥🏍️🏍️ at his cottage in Lambourn, Berkshire, July 1997.
I found this amazing photo 💥💥 on Pinterest, but credited to George Chin/IconicPix
Sorry for the watermarks, folks, but this is so great I couldn't resist posting !!!
And here's the MASTERPIECE that allowed me to meet the guy who became my forever favourite drummer, Cozy Powell 🔥🔥
Rainbow's Rising 🌈🌈, released on May 17 1976, that contains the greatest drum 🥁🔥 intro ever, Stargazer.
And the whole album is a masterpiece, a jewel of heavy metal!! ⚡⚡🔥🔥
Cozy's fitting tips, as he told Modern Drummer, in 1984, by the time of the Slide It In tour, with Whitesnake.
He always looked very good and very fit, huh?? 🔥🔥🥁🥁
"Just fifteen or twenty minutes of pull-ups and such to get going. You can't possibly walk on stage stiff. I walk around a lot. If you think I move around a lot now, you should see me then. I pace up and down a room, up and down stairs, just to get it all going initially, and get the heart rate up a bit so when I do walk on. I'm immediately energetic. I don't get stage fright anymore; I can walk onto an arena anywhere. It's not a case of being blasé and saying I don't get nervous, of course I get nervous, but I psych myself up like racing drivers as they sit on the grid waiting for the green light. It's the same thing playing on stage. You walk in front of a lot of people, and you have to do your own job. It's a very physical job, so you have to work yourself up. I have to do something with both arms and both legs to push the band, so I have to be capable of walking on and doing it. I have to be in control from the minute we start. I can't afford to let it be two or three numbers before I've got it together, because I'll let the band down if I do that".
I love when he says he psych himself like racing drivers 😀😀🏁🏁🚥🚥. Well, he was almost one of them!!
Iconic drum kits just as iconic as the guy who sat behind them 🔥🔥
It's been quite a while, folks!! 😁😁
Here are some very cool portraits of Cozy, in Amsterdam 1992, in the days when he played with Brian May 🔥🔥
Pinterest is a source of endless great treasures!!! 💯💯
