Hoff’s Sapsucking Slug - Thuridilla hoffae | ©Ülar Tikk (Lembeh, Indonesia)
Thuridilla hoffae (Sacoglossa - Plakobranchidae) is a sea slug known from the Indo-Pacific region; its range extends from the Ryukyu Islands to tropical Australia [1].
This species is characterized by its dark blue-black color with a bright orange-yellow line at the parapodial edge, and a broad light blue band running parallel to the parapodial edge just below the edge, separated from the orange-yellow edge by a thin line of blue-black. The rhinophores are also light blue except for the tip which is blue-black. A dorsal patch of blue also occurs on the posterior tip of the foot. The anterior margin of the foot has an orange line [2].
