Coping, After The Pain. After a traumatic event takes place in your life (rape, domestic violence, pedophilia, or harassment), it is normal to have feelings of anxiety, anger, or fear. You may feel as if the walls are closing in on you. These feelings may cause you to shut down & isolate yourself. Having a flashback about a traumatic event can make it difficult for you to connect with reality. It may even make you feel as if the perpetrator is standing right next to you. Here are five things that will help you cope “after the pain.” • Slowly, Breathe in. Breathe out. • Take note of all of your surroundings. You need to know that you’re not in the same room with your attacker. • “I survived.” Say it out loud, at least five times. 🚨 For the last two tips check out my latest blog post by clicking on the link in my profile or type this link notesfromwanda.com/blog #thursdaytip #thursdaytraumatip #notestomoveforward #notestoheal #southfloridaauthor #podcaster #southfloridacoach #notesfromwanda #takenotemoveforward https://www.instagram.com/p/Boh8EhfgENE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1mo9n25oybzig
