Played Among Us for the first time today and just-- WOW.
I had a BLAST!
So first off, my first game I got killed like. .2 seconds in... which was kind of hilarious, because that server just kind of died, died after-- and then I spent a whole host of time in another server where they actually let me learn the basics and ropes and--
WASD
I discovered that WASD works to play the game with just in time for my first Imposter round... And a later round... just-- VENTING... Ahahahaha, Whoever was “NotCute” thanks for stealing my colour, but also, I seriously thought you saw me, and that was just-- so wonderful and fun!
And then I swapped to another server to try so, so hard to be in some games with my brother. Which initially, we both were not that fantastic, because spoiling each other. Never did get imposter together, never gave away then-- but first two rounds were... rough.
AND I GOT SUSSED BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO FUEL UP.
It was WONDERFUL.
Meanwhile some other things I discovered:
Asteroids, kind of hard
Swipe card will be MY ENEMY!
Turn all the LIGHTS OUT!
White is almost always a super lethal imposter when they are.
Being a newbie is both your best and worst defense to make.
At least two people assumed I was baby.
People will YEET you for telling the truth. (Sorry whoever was Pink, you totally caught me venting and they still Yeeted)

Dusknoir Dragging You to the Future
Because like, the logic of dragging you and the partner to the future. You the player have amnesia and remember nothing of your past being Grovyle's "Save the Future" partner. The partner character... who's from the past anyway, doesn't know anything about that either, just happens to have the key to the solution... but like-- what's so stupid is... Had Dusknoir just left you two in the past... you wouldn't have learned the truth and thus gotten back on track to saving the future.
It just... would have unfolded.
Because Grovyle was so sure his partner was still in the past to save it... he wouldn't have come back to find out what's happening. He would have let himself be executed. Because there was someone else out there doing that job...
But... if you hadn’t been dragged to the future. You wouldn’t have. You’d have been in the same boat as everyone else in Treasure Town and across the world.
“Why isn’t time being fixed?!”
Because... had Dusknoir left you... you had no memory of your quest. You believed him when he claimed he was the good guy... I’m just saying...
So I indulgently bought the Ice Age Scrat game on the Switch and just like... Why does this look so much better than Pokémon despite being like... stupidly straightforwards about itself.
Also what is this platforming? One moment easy the next, jump to far, too limited, but I love it.
I'VE HAD THIS GAME FOR FIVE DAYS!!
Five days and SIX SHINIES. Almost a shiny per day, it’s wild. I haven’t even gotten that far into the game. No shiny charm, no shining power sandwiches. This is just my luck apparently. So all these are full odds. Also not quite in order.
So the order is, caught Spritz the Psyduck, around something like 10 minutes into playing it in the first place. Then-- Then I ran into the first shinx, this was after I put the game down for a few hours and, not even an hour later the second shinx popped up. Absolutely shook me because WHAT? All three were caught literally on my first day playing, although I didn’t take Spritz’s photo until today.
Then today, TODAY, I caught the Nacti up top first. Literally tripped over it while running around because otherwise probably wouldn’t have caught it. Then done some actual hunting and caught my lovely little pawmi. HIS NAME IS PINKY AND HE WILL BE MY ACE! No one is allowed to comment, my baby. And literally 45 mins later I ran into my second shiny psyduck.
Also sorry for some of the awful photos, I just... Shinies.
This game feels ridiculously shiny huntable-- while at the same time no shiny sound on overworld kind of kills it. But yeah, I’ve gotten more shinies in this than any other game and 5 of them were without trying...
The one I actually tried was Pinky and he is my baby and in this essay I will~~
Sooooo this is why I’ve removed midge‘s larger litters mod. Whenever my pets tried to have 8 babies... well this kept happening. This was just the last one and kind of what made me done.
Didn’t find any conflicts, just seemed to be the game throwing a fit over it. So you know.
Discord WTF? Why can’t I send Among Us invites anywhere? I don’t have the settings turned off?!
Got New Horizons on the tail of a Panic Attack...
And one of the first things I do is catch Wasps.
