There are no decent dumpling joints in Nelson so when Aunty Renee arrived in town, she needed her dumpling fix. So off we tootled off to Tianze Dumpling House to enjoy chef/owner Levi Sun’s dumplings: prawn, egg and chives + cabbage, black fungus & tofu. The dumplings tonight were pan fried, the edges turning crispy. In addition, we had egg pancake and a tofu skin, black fungus & celery salad. Aunty Renee pronounced she was totally replete, died and gone to heaven. Celebrating Aunty Yoke Har’s birthday with dinner at Tianze Noodle House, Sandringham. Chef Levi Sun cooked a selection of the biggest hits from his Shanghai Cuisine menu. Levi’s father made a special Shanghai Chinese New Year jiaoxi and we had two types of dumplings, pork & chives and fish & chives, all deliciously shallow panfried.
