I would burn for you (2876 words) by Star_de_la_Bourgoisie, tallfae
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Manon Lescaut - Antoine François Prevost Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Tiberge/Des Grieux Characters: Tiberge, Manon Lescaut, (mentionned), Des Grieux Additional Tags: Snippets, Canon Divergence, I studied this book to make it as gay as I could, Bittersweet, First Kiss, Conflict, hurt/little comfort, These two live rent free in my brain, Tiberge is called Mathurin (doesnt come up but its fun), Des Grieux is called Laurent Summary: "Laurent," I said, "You do not know what you are asking of me." I pressed a fevered kiss to his hand. He startled, "What are you doing?" I laughed, but it turned into a sob. I put my forehead to his, and kissed his cheeks. "You do not know what you are asking for, my dear knight," I repeated. "This will break me, Laurent," I whispered, "I cannot—" my voice cut off. "I cannot let you leave with this woman, I cannot." When Des Grieux begs Tiberge for money before being shipped off to America, Tiberge breaks.
Exam season's kicking my ass, have an evening drawing.
I like the rendering for once, and references are saving me (<- doesn't know how to draw people kissing)
"I know your face better than I know mine."
Still on that Tiberge x Des Grieux grind, have a piece where I bothered to do lighting for once. Flat colours are under the cut:
On my way to ship two characters from a 300 yo book who's with me?
The blonde one is Tiberge and the brown haired one is DesGrieux (cos i forgot to write their names on that chart) and both of them are my beloved boys from the 18th century.
I do have to come up with a design for Manon, because girlie is beautiful but has no description at all in the book, and all of the ones I'm coming up with now are Not It.
Been re-reading Prévost's Manon Lescaut and like, geez let Tiberge get angry for once dude. That guy's hauling ass trying to keep his best friend alive, well fed and out of prison and said best friend is like speedrunning PrisonLife like it's his job LMAO
Concept art for characters from the book Manon Lescaut by L’Abbé Prévost. I’m honestly too tired to resume everything now so this will have to wait tomorrow.
They’re all freaks (affectionate) and they haunt my mind. What the hell they had going on was not normal lmao
