The thing about a lot of Apple computers is that they last A LONG time. Just a lot of the programs stop getting updates if they're too old. The machine and everything can still work, there just won't be any support or security updates after a time for anything. The MacBook is ridiculously light, but it handles heavy duty programs like a dream (I use 3D rendering programs for my job), and the battery can last me a while. Can't give you a clear estimate on how long the battery lasts bc the programs I use skews that a bit, but I can say that in the middle of the work day, I only have to charge it once. If you're still making gifs or using any other creative program, Mac makes working on them really easy. Not as many steps to go through like Windows. I haven't run into any software or hardware problems, but that's only bc I'm not using it on a daily basis, so I haven't run into anything as of yet. I think what you need to consider is what you're gonna be using it for. Like, is it only for work or is it going to become your daily computer? If it's only for work, you wouldn't be utilizing all its capabilities and you'd almost be better off getting a mini laptop instead for meetings and stuff. Hope that helps a little?
It’s only going to be used for productivity, not for any kind of media unless I really need to. For the most part, I’ll still gif and other stuff on my desktop computer and use my Windows laptop in the office. But I really need this for work meetings outside of the office since my Windows laptop is 7 years old and the battery can only hold a 30 minute charge so I have to always be plugged in and that’s annoying as fuck
But thank you so much!! That helps a ton, and at least I know that since it’s still relatively “young” it can still stand updates from a few years from now. At least if I get pissed I can put Windows in it in a few years xD I’m gonna have to think it over a little bit more now from the financial side of it. xD Gonna have to make back that expense somehow.
