Wear more color.
For the most part, American men do not wear enough color. If you exclude New York City and Chicago, the vast majority of men in the union only wear blue jeans coupled with some kind of shirt. They wear blue jeans like it's the only fabric out there. At Haus of Dinma, we insist men must wear more color. Color boosts your mood and makes a statement without you opening your mouth.
Red trousers: you can get this from Landsend'. It is made of Poplin which is a durable material. This is a fitted trouser. You should always wear fitted trousers. Not baggy and never skinny. I own a pair of these and I rock them occasionally when I'm feeling very good and I want the world to know. Have you ever tried chasing chicks while confidently wearing a pair of red trousers? You should. If you pull it off correctly, all they see is a proud man striding along, they look at you like a Pharaoh. They instinctively know you are not like the others, but half of the time they don't know whether to salute you or call you Sire. It's not easy to pull off. I find it best matches with a dark dress shirt or a fitted T-shirt.
2. Green trousers: You can get this from Landsend' too. It's very versatile and you can match it with lighter colors e.g. a light form of green or a white Polo shirt.
3. Blue Trousers: You can get this from H&M. It's mellow and fits everything. H&M also has other trousers that look like jeans but are not jeans. Since I found these, I have drastically reduced the rate I wear jeans. These are much softer on your skin and not as stiff as jeans.
4. White Jeans: This should be a staple in every young man's wardrobe. I mostly wear it on hot summer days. It makes a statement. It's very minimalist and clean. The mainstream fashion magazines recommend you let it get dirty, and that doing this is supposedly part of the charm. We disagree, keep it clean. You don't want to look like you are down on your luck or even worse: homeless. Spot clean it when it has stains. Wash it after wearing it a couple of times, and remember white only shines once. These are from Levi's.
If you are brave, you can try buying pink, yellow, orange trousers. As long as they are fitted and you are confident enough to pull them off. Remember confidence would get you anywhere, but please make sure you don't wear them to the office.
Invest in colored socks. Especially colored argyle. At the office, sometimes, I wear a traditional black or navy suit with a lavender shirt because it's a conservative place, and I don't want to look like a peacock. My inner rebel always wants color, so I wear some nice purple argyle socks rather than the predictable black socks everyone is accustomed to. People notice little details like that. That being said, be careful not to outshine the boss all the time or you are going to be out of work soon. Outshine him a little just to keep him on his toes.
