caleb? so used to bas’ tail wrapped around any part of his body that he manually wraps it around himself when it isn’t? it’s more likely than u think. at first he used to get a little uneasy, but now it’s a nice, reassuring weight. not as intense as holding hands, not overwhelming, just affirming that bas is there and that bas, in fact, Does Not hate caleb, and Is Okay with being close to him
these fools’ endgame is settling down in a tiny village, where bas tells all the kids about the grand adventures he and his husband used to have. especially that one story about the mighty nein rescuing bas is told multiple times over the years, and each time it gets more dramatic and unrealistic - what never changes is the easy smiles the both of them share when the children lose their minds over bas describing caleb’s heroic entrance
bas might be tall, but caleb is stubborn, so they spend a lot of time mastering the arts of dancing together, with caleb in the lead. if there’s one thing caleb loves, it’s dipping bas! his hair falls over his face and he’s grinning down at his tief with the most mischievous glint in his eyes, and he feels light and happy and in love! this did take a couple of attempts where bas was dropped, but it was quite definitely worth it
caleb’s zemnian nickname for bas is herzblatt, or rosenblatt. translated, heart leaf, or rose petal. the latter isn’t necessarily a typical zemnian nickname, but it’s what he thinks of when he sees bas. apart from these, he always calls bas by his full name, horribly pronounced with a rough zemnian accent.
MODERN VERSE! caleb has a lot of recordings of bas singing or humming on his phone. sometimes it’ll be secret recordings nott or caleb made when bas wasn’t even aware of his own singing, sometimes it’ll be little custom recordings bas made for caleb when either of them are out of town. there’s also one infamous karaoke video of them drunkenly singing ‘don’t go breaking my heart’ together
