A new project!
I needed something to work on while #49 is destaining, so I did a couple hair roots and then grabbed this doll on eBay to play with.
I call her MiniMomo because she has a similar head sculpt to a doll I named Momo. I don’t have a recent pic of HER, so that’ll wait.
MiniMomo is nasty.
Way grosser than expected.
She does have neck articulation! which means I could theoretically put her head on a playline doll body if I need to. And I might need to.
Her hair is faux fur glued on, with a styrofoam pate. That’s ok. I was able to get the fur off without ripping it too much, and it’s soaking.
She is from France. (that is a joke)
I thought I’d pull a half-ball of foam out of her head but....
Well I was NOT expecting that...
Her vinyl parts are FILTHY NASTY but coming clean pretty well.
Ok that’s..... that’s different. See that red decoration in the center of her necklace? That’s not a bead.
It’s a pin. There was one hidden in her hair, too. Glad I found them with my eyes and not my fingers, because the one that was in her hair is rusty.
That’s what was inside there. ok.....sure....
So.... Sadly, her dress shredded when I was removing it. It was mostly glued on, and the fabric was brittle. I might be able to salvage it with some ironable interfacing or something like that, and I might not. It might be better to get her something else to wear.
Either way, the dress and her underthings are soaking, annnnnnnnd her body’s in the trash. Sadly. The fabric on it is brittle and shredding as well, and if I have to replace the fabric, I might as well replace the wire and padding, too.
I have the feet and hands soaking (also the face) in the hopes that the glue they used is water soluble and will come off.
If nothing else, I can probably use the feet on a different body, or can even replace the wire and cloth parts with fresh wire and cloth.
But I guess that will depend on whether or not I can salvage her dress.
BIG!
BIG SLUG!!
BIG!!!
The Bunny Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is here with new limited-time items to craft! We'll tell you how to find egg items around your island and craft Bunny Day items.
Here’s the guide I was looking at.
Let me test the autotagger again.
Looks like the custom tag for my own posts is functioning properly on THIS post.
Last time I tried it, it also put that tag on reblogs that I wasn’t OP of, though. Will test that, next.
“Everyone opted out so we just took that option away completely.”
Hm.
Observation RE: @seananmcguire posting about mango allergies and getting an inbox flood with anecdotes about people’s allergies, which led me to think “Why don’t they just reblog the post and add a comment there?” I mean yeah, Seanan might not see it if it’s a comment, tag, or a reply, but that’s fine. Is it that imperative that Seanan specifically see the anecdote? Is it not enough to scream it into the void, tacked onto the end of a reblog? Is she going to have to beg people to stop sending messages about it? Again?
And I was thinking maybe it’s this weird culture Tumblr’s had lately of DO NOT SULLY THE POST. Because people get mad at other people for adding comments to posts these days like you can’t just click on the original (assuming it hasn’t been deleted) and reblog the “clean” version. And maybe because of that, folks don’t even think to reblog with a comment anymore.
Oh she is very Momo. Her eyes are SO RETRO look at them they’re layered flowers!!
Tons of flash but most of it picked off easily.
Severely underrooted. I don’t know if I have the fortitude to root such a large head again. At least she’s relatively soft.
