Thundercats [2011] action figure reviews: Tiger Flyer with Tygus
Finally, this action figure and vehicle show up on our shores! Tygus is the (possible) ancestor of Tygra who is a member of Mumm-Ras military force from the past!
The figure design and sculpt are really nice, as with all other character redesigns in this line, the blend of fantasy and sci-fi elements is extremely well done and works wonderfully on this figure! The little details are pulled off really well, from the little light sections on his armour to his visor!
The paint job, as is standard in this line of figures is basic flat colours, but for me that works! The figure only has 9 points of articulation, none of which are ball-jointed, however, don't let that get you down on how great this figure really is!
The main selling point of this figure is by far the awesome Tiger Flyer vehicle: this has a vintage feel to it, and despite looking nothing like it, reminds me somewhat of the Thunderclaw vehicle from the original line! The vehicle has retractable feet for when it's parked in the garage or in mid-flight battle! The vehicle also has light-up eyes when you place Tygus into the hang-glide position of the vehicle and allow his magnet in his back connect to the panel on the underside of the flyer, adding an extra cool feature to play! This, along with many figures in the line are showing up on our shores at ridiculously cheap prices, presumably due to the tragic cancellation of the under-rated 2011 cartoon series, so if you see one, make sure you get one while you still can! Thundercats... HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
