Gus being so weirdly skilled at finding people who Need To Be Told What To Do and then Telling Them What To Do so well that they Become His is one of my favorite character traits/personalities together with their counterpart (Mike but specifically Tyrus), characters who Want To Be Told What To Do So They Don't Have To Do It Themselves Internally. Like I love me some bitch who wants to listen, be a good warrior/soldier, etc.
I also love bitches who want to be seen as useful at all times (looking at Victor)

Like both "Makes use of the skills he learned in combat (which he feels are 'all he knows how to do')" and "He receives constant direction from a superior (which takes the pressure off of him to proactively rebuild his life and Self, since he can just do and be whatever Gus says)" are so hot.

100% agree with you, it's a Delicious dynamic! 'character who wants so badly to have the burden of choice and responsibility lifted from them' and 'character who takes up that burden and in return receives extreme loyalty from the other that they make devastating use of' is sooooo good lmao
and of course, 'character who needs to constantly prove their worthiness and strength, especially to The One In Charge who they look up to and desperately want to impress' is also a delightful type to pair with a guy like Gus ;) he's a little bit different from Mike and Tyrus, but he's absolutely right there with them in the 'Gustavo Fring's Emotionally Unwell and Psychologically Needy Submissives Employees Club'
