Given Present Events:

If I see any one of you on my dash making fun of an innocent person's death or mocking their life when they die, I will block you, no exceptions. I feel like we have gotten so used to making fun of bad people's deaths in recent times (Charlie Kirk and the "Kirkify" meme) that we have lost the distinction between tasteful and despicable. Even then, sometimes it's just too soon to be making fun of or celebrating any person's death (unless they're like a genocidal dictator). That being said: Rest in Peace Oliver Tree. Your music got me through COVID, as well as some of the hardest times in my life.

I don't understand why it matters so much what random shit people watch or read or whatever in their free time

I mean like wild think pieces about how queer ppl watch too much or too little cartoons, or whether not "outgrowing" interests is a sign of "generational trauma" or whatever the fuck

Like sure, I detest a lot of fandom shit or whatever but that has barely anything to do with whether it's about Steven Universe or Jane Austen. Truly some of the people I hated most on this website had plenty "mature" hobbies.

Like in the end, our media consumption is a very small part of our lives and I am extremely sceptical that the way people relate to others is foremost shaped by whether they "challenge" themselves by reading war and peace or whatever. Endless psychoanalyzing on this topic is so popular, too. Maybe the real sign of how hard it is to escape fandom brainworms, which dictate that Media is central to a person's life...

Yesterday, at a feminist debate, one debater (who has approximately twice the amount of university schooling than I, at the very least) said "well not only women menstruate, but all people who uhh, have female reproductive organs..." and it was the most youtried.jpg shit ever...

Idk why ppl pretend inclusive language is somehow the field of elite academics when clearly most of them can't use it for shit. Inclusive language is the field of minorities and people who hang around with us, like you simply learn to talk in a way that is not rude or weird to people, by talking to said people, it's the most natural process in the world! Instead I have to endure these slap fights between elites about who is most Enlightened. It sucks.

It's always always always the same shit. People are so invested into protecting a celebrity from having their name even hypothetically besmirched, than in *really* opening the floor to the discussion of what behavior might constitute a red flag in a relationship between an adult and a teen.

It really fucking guts me, especially as a trans bi person, bc like so many young ppl in our communities don't have the opportunity to find support with family or peer relationships because of isolation created by homophobia/transphobia/etc.

We should all be very much invested in the ability of young people to say that something is uncomfortable, in their ability to think about their boundaries. Especially if we as people have the experience of depending upon mentorship and support of an unrelated-by-blood adult as teens, or if we provide such support or mentoring ourselves these days.

I don't feel the need to be "contribute or perish" at people but it really feels like some ppl should try contributing to literally any random shit of their choice instead of producing constant shitty uninformed take downs of work and efforts of others

I low key hate the concept of "energy vampires" bc it feels like a really dehumanizing and accusatory way to say "someone who bumms me out" and like why not say it directly

Like I guess I'm really struggling with like saying "plastic is a problem even when it's convenient or needed" or maybe I guess even more what I am struggling with is "this is a bigger problem than you think, our way of life is deadly even more than you think"

Idk how ppl deal with this. I guess by participating in those asinine threads.

I read some bad writing on asexuality and again I am struck with a really strong feeling - we as gays/queers/bis/take yr pick should be resisting the bio/essentialization of sexuality and placing of sexuality in the body like a tumor that can be scanned for
