Help Tiger Replace Their Sewing Machine

As you know, I'm an avid sewist. I make nearly all of my clothes, and I teach classes for beginners to learn how to sew from scratch and do alterations/mend things. I'm sewing up something at least once a week.

Well, after almost ten years, my beloved machine is broken in a way that can't really be fixed. A part snapped off and there doesn't seem to be any way to reattach it.

So! I'm doing a little fundraiser to get myself a new one. My goal is $400. That will cover the machine and a warranty for it.

I had to throw out about 200 spools of thread from my sewing class because they were starting to grow mould. They were donated and had probably been sitting in someone's damp basement for years before coming to us. I also need to replace a lot of notions, like pins and machine needles that have broken or gone missing.

Most of these are already cut out, and the hoodie and tote bag are both partially sewn and just need some finish sewing to get them ready to wrap.

Mwahahahahaha!!! My first bra has been a roaring success! It fits fucking perfectly, is super comfortable, and (if I do say so myself) looks sexy as fuck on me.

I'll get pictures tomorrow when I am no longer a hideously sweaty bog beast.

As I get more confident with the process, I'll start altering the pattern shape slightly (I want to try a shelf cup if it would be possible with these monsters), but also expand into fancier fabrics. Satin is next, in fact I've already started the next one, but Chinese brocade is a goal.

I just have to learn to make my own shoes, and I will be unstoppable!

Laundry day, washing a bunch of fabric that I want to sew up soon. A lot of it has glitter on it. Fingers crossed it won't all come out in the wash.

My 'Christmas stockings' are going to be so freaking cute. I have to redo the band because they're too loose at the top of the thigh, and I don't want to wear a garter belt. I think I need to adjust the pattern to give it a more snug fit for future versions.

For Christmas this year, I made one of my niblings a MLD.

A My Little Deadpool.

It's about 16 inches tall, velvety soft, with weighted feet to help it stand. I used a few different patterns I found online to make the body, but the tail, wings, and most of the head were drafted from scratch to give me the look I wanted.
