The Cage Is Broken || TigerWolf

Valentine’s Day had been an absolute shit show as far as Rajah was concerned. And there were many reasons for that (don’t even get him started on his love life, which was still less than ideal if you asked Rajah), but one of them had been a kind of glaring, dangerous mistake on his part--

He’d nearly let the tiger go.

He still remembered all that hunger and how fast and hard his heart had beat. It had been so many weeks since he transformed, the longest he’d gone since he was in university. And his body-- and his tiger’s body-- had become practically one in the same to Rajah in that time. He’d grown used to stretching those muscles and looking at the world through those eyes. Since coming to Swynlake, the gorgeous woods only made it easier for him to indulge his animal instincts, and he’d taken to those trees like it was his playhouse.

Rajah should have been more cautious from the beginning. He shouldn’t have been selfish with his beast and he shouldn’t have spent all those nights in that skin, and then quit so suddenly, without any warning to the magic inside of him. The world had started to blur, colours faded, scents not quite as sharp, as Rajah felt only bitterness toward what he was. And then Jacques came and the spell and… and everything had burst into life again.

Rajah knew he couldn’t be that close to losing control ever again, not if he wanted to… maybe be with Jacques and not if he wanted to be a cop and not if he wanted to honour Copper’s requests. It had become a Catch-22, and Raj could hear his mother hissing about how right she’d been. She’d told Rajah that the tiger would become harder to control the more that it prowled. But he had no choice; keeping his magic cooped up would only make it more dangerous. So he’d release it a little at a time instead of cutting cold turkey.

Which was why he was out now, deep in the woods, having shed his clothes and fallen into his tigerskin again. The shift was an adrenaline rush that went straight to his head. For the first few minutes, Raj wasn’t Raj; the beast bolted through the forest, running faster and faster, then leapt through the air, as though he could sprout wings and take off. And then mid-air, Raj woke and realized he wasn’t sleeping at all-- he’d just forgotten, for a moment, how joy could feel.

His paws hit the ground, claws scratching at the litter as his tail swept at the leaves as well. A low growl rumbled in his throat, as he blinked his orange eyes and breathed deep and calm. His heart was beating stronger than ever as he began to prowl, drawing in more forest with every breath.

When the scent of the wolf came, he whirled his massive head around toward it at once, lips curling over his fangs as he dropped lower to the ground.

The wolf emerged from the trees and Rajah’s growl got louder.

Meet Perry. He's Felicia brother. Unlike his sister he's much more goofy and laid back. So a while back I got a grab-bag of adopts from  KiyaKittenSaito and there was this wolf there with stripes on him. I had this idea to tweak the design slightly and make him Felicia's brother. Day 17 - Wild

In Indonesia, someone had the idea to force a union with a wolf and a tiger. It was a big mistake. Dubbed the

Kengerian

by the locals, this creatures wanders the jungles killing whatever unfortunate soul caught its gleaming eyes. It’s a leader without a pack, a loner with no equal, and it will remain alone in this world - a one-of-a-kind wonder.

Sketch of the Day (February 3rd 2018) - second page, done! Here’s the first page. I’m kind of bewildered at how fast I got this done, holy fudge; the first page was only finished and posted two days ago!

Also what Kayoss says in the last panel is probably the internal dialogue of all large carnivores, haha. Dem fail rates for hunts are pretty high (considering that the 'deadliest' cat in the world, the Black Footed Cat, has only a 60% success rate.)

Page 1 of Cold Chase complete! Cold Chase is a thirteen page scene which I originally storyboarded back in highschool (like a bazillion years ago now,) which I’ve turning into this for fun. I made a previous attempt to make it into a comic several years back but that kinda failed, but this one won’t, ‘cus all the pages are drawn, they just need colour and my cintiq is here to help me out, woo! I’ll be posting finished pages as often as I have them, blargh.
