42 and 46 for Ruby Rose; 2 and 26 for Blake Belladonna
Admittedly its mechanical tinkering on crescent rose. At least, 80% of the time its weapon tinkering. There’s just something about the way gears step in line with each other so easy and naturally that just makes sense Ruby. Its the feel of warming metal and everything has a spot it neatly, purposefully fits into. The world tends to fall away for Ruby then. The confusion of mimicking what she’d seen her sister do, the myriad of unspoken rules of socializing and all that anxiety are gone in a flash.
The remaining 20 is taken up with reading. Reading of heroines and heroes on great grand adventures. The world makes sense. Bad guys are bad guys and the good guys always win. Save the world, make it better. Its something Ruby longs to do. Make the world better, nicer, shinier. She can take out a bad part and replace it in a weapon and she wants to fix all those broken, rusty pieces.
People call her naive for wanting to fix things but she doesn’t care. She’ll show them when they turn around one day and find it hard to be bitter in the face of a kinder gentler world.
46.Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
Ruby is a girl of action mostly and she feels what she thinks. She doesn’t have a separated line of thought running from what her heart is pounding about.
She reacts quickly and instinctively. That’s not to say she isn’t capable of explaining. She can, given time to figure out how to word what she’s feeling. But doing; leaping in with her fingers twirling and Crescent Rose singing is so much easier. It takes so much time and fidgeting to word out where she’s going to jump, slash, spin. Time can be cruel and take things from you before you can blink so, really, isn’t it better to leap and do before time steals something?
2. Do they have any daily rituals?
Several. Blake has routines running throughout her day. Most of it is typical rituals. Readying for the day or readying for sleep in particular. Or maybe its the pattern in which she covers her homework (start with disliked topics like Dust Theory 101 and end with enjoyed topics like History). But one thing she does that she can safely call a Ritual is how she prepares her tea.
It isn’t simply taking water to a boil and pouring it. You have to get it at the right temp for the right tea. Oolong for instance, needs water at about 185 Fahrenheit but various Black teas need to be higher at around 210.
So careful water temp management, adjusted timed steeping. 1 cream, 1 sugar if it was a black tea or possibly for blends well suited for it. Like a Mistrali breakfast blend. Nothing if it was green or oolong. She had different mugs based on the kind of tea. Strainers, little teapots and all.
Her team teased her a little when they had gotten proper apartment like lodgings in their later school years. Okay, Yang teased her a little, while sectioning out an entire cabinet for Blakes “Tea Voodos”.
Still they could often find Blake spending several long minutes in quiet contemplation crafting her cup of tea with a practiced, precise hand.
26.Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?
Vague ones. Beacon, and thus being a huntress was her fall back plan. Travel the world, fighting Grimm and apprehending criminals (people like her). Its what good people do right?
Okay okay, so she travels the world. With Yang, Ruby and possibly Weiss. They do good, right wrongs. Fight for the rights of her people by showing the world what levels Faunus can reach given half a chance and an open door.
It nags at her. She doesn’t have a plan right now. She’s a little lost and still spinning from it. But, she doesn’t think it’ll be too bad given the company she has right now. It’ll work out, kind of hard not to believe it when Ruby gives her such an earnest smile, Yang providing a solid protective presence to back her up. And well, Weiss could probably plan for anything.
