How do you make your gifs so crisp and large? They're beautiful quality! But small file size too.. What program do you use?

My favorite TV show is Supernatural, and I started watching it because I saw so many things about it on Tumblr and it looked really good :D

I'm in the Coldplay fandom, and I guess I'm in the Supernatural fandom I just don't have a blog for that yet :)
